RAWALPINDI: A targeted operation led by Rawat Police in Rawalpindi has successfully dismantled a notorious gang involved in car snatching, with two of its members apprehended during a raid on Friday.
The crackdown, specifically targeting active car snatchers within the jurisdiction of Rawat police station, resulted in the arrest of Bilal Latif and Zahid Mehmood, both identified as key operatives of the gang. Additionally, the raid led to the recovery of a snatched Mehran car in their possession.
Preliminary investigations into the matter have unveiled the gang’s modus operandi, indicating that they would rent cars before orchestrating armed robberies to forcibly seize the vehicles and evade capture.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sadar Muhammad Nabeel Khokhar affirmed that the detained individuals would be presented in court with substantial evidence against them. He stressed that those responsible for preying on citizens and depriving them of their belongings would not evade justice.
