ISLAMABAD: On Thursday, the government announced a holiday period of three days for offices with a five-day work week and four days for those operating six days a week, in observance of Eidul Fitr.
According to a notification issued by the Cabinet Division, the holidays are scheduled from Wednesday, April 10, to Friday, April 12, for institutions with a five-day work week. Meanwhile, for establishments with a six-day work week, the holidays will extend from Wednesday, April 10, to Saturday, April 13.
Eidul Fitr holds great significance in the Islamic lunar calendar, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan during which Muslims worldwide observe fasting. The festivities of Eid symbolize the conclusion of this period of spiritual devotion.
This year, the exact date of Eidul Fitr is anticipated to be either April 10 or April 11, contingent upon the sighting of the moon.
