WEB DESK: Former Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has suggested that the threatening letters directed at judges are benefiting the opposition PTI, hinting at potential involvement by allies of the PTI.
During the “Breaking Barrier with Malick” show on Aik News, anchor Mohammad Malick raised the speculation of intelligence agencies being involved in sending threatening letters to the judiciary. In response, Sanaullah highlighted the importance of understanding who benefits from such actions to identify the culprits.
Sanaullah implicated PTI in the situation, saying that PTI or its allies have played a role in worsening it. He stated, “Agencies already accused have no motivation to escalate the situation. There must be a group close to PTI behind this.”

When Malick questioned why PTI or its associates would threaten the judiciary, given past confrontations, Sanaullah maintained his position. Meanwhile, Sanaullah commented on the pressures faced by the judiciary, acknowledging recent letters but downplaying their significance since they lacked threatening content.
He further criticised the judiciary’s handling of internal pressures, proposing a comprehensive dialogue involving various stakeholders to address systemic issues and foster national progress.
Responding to Malick’s suggestion that Sanaullah views Pakistan’s political process as flawed, Sanaullah accused not only the establishment and other agencies but also the judiciary of involvement in selecting Imran Khan. He criticised Khan’s actions, contrasting them with his own legal troubles and accusing Khan of orchestrating the May 9 riots.
