Jade Cargill ditches AEW, joins WWE

CONNECTICUT: Jade Cargill’s transition from All Elite Wrestling (AEW) to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) has left wrestling enthusiasts stunned. Although her swift signing with WWE was anticipated, the company has strategically awaited the opportune moment for her debut.

According to media reports, scheduled to join forces with Bianca Belair and Naomi to face Damage CTRL at WrestleMania 40, Cargill is poised for her inaugural WWE match on the grandest stage of all. As her WWE trajectory continues to ascend, many lament AEW’s purported underutilization of her talents.

During an interview on Busted Open Radio, host Dave LaGreca expressed sentiments suggesting AEW’s failure to capitalise on Jade’s potential. When probed about her departure from AEW, Cargill confirmed that several factors influenced her decision.

“There are a couple of things that made me go to WWE other than the fact that the machine is ridiculous over here, the connections, the history, the legacy, it’s one of one, you know? AEW was a new company, they’re still figuring things out, obviously. That happens with every company, right? You have to figure out what’s good and what’s bad. I’m 31. I don’t have time to grow with the company at my age. I have to be in an established company, and I have to go over there and let it be known, because I can’t do this forever,” she articulated.

Cargill stressed the industry’s preference for younger talent on television screens, acknowledging the time constraints inherent in professional wrestling. “Time was not on my side, and I knew I had to make the best decision for me, and my family,” she stated, elucidating her rationale for joining WWE.

Despite AEW’s substantial financial offer to retain her, Cargill opted for what she deemed best for her career path. Having maintained an undefeated streak for nearly three years and securing prominent positions in both AEW and WWE, Cargill envisioned reaching new heights in the wrestling realm, a feat she believed only WWE could facilitate.

In September 2023, Cargill concluded her tenure with AEW as her contract expired, promptly followed by WWE securing her services under a multi-year deal.
